We had a wonderful mini trip this past Labor Day weekend. The hotel we were staying located at Rittenhouse Square and it provides great pet service, i.e. Tres got a hugh fluffy bed when we arrived at the hotel and the concierge remembered our dog's name the next day and there were at least 30 dogs staying at that hotel. Rittenhouse Sq. area is such a lovely place where you can see a lot of old houses, especially many old horse carriage house converted apartment.
Philadelphia is a very dog friendly city (at least where we were staying). Look at this dog parking device. You don't need to think about where to tie up your dog.
We also need to see how well we travel with baby e. which was another reason we chose Philadelphia (it is close enough to NYC and Leo wants to try the Philly Cheese Steak from Pat's or Geno). We have not gone to any restaurants after baby e was born so it was a little nerve racking to venture out to dinner because we did not know when he would start crying. But it turned out that baby e had been great so we had great dinner on Sat and Sun!
At Audrey Claire http://www.audreyclaire.com/ac/achome_flash.html (20th & Spruce, Philadelphia, Pa), the food was so fabulous. I love the way this restaurant uses apple to decorate the table and as a paper weight!
We had fig, gorgonzola and honey flat bread!
Grilled marlin
Maple brined pork chop with wild boar bacon, candid dates, gorgonzola granny smith apple butter!
And the best part was that the service was not rushed and the price was very reasonable!
On the last day, we drove to south Philadelphia to have cheesesteak at Pat's King of Steak. We saw this place from travel channel and it was just a hype. But overall, we had a great time!
