Trip back home

We recently came back from Taiwan.  Besides the miserable first week there because both Leo and I were sick from catching a cold, it was a very nice and relaxing vacation spending time with my parents.  We stopped by Hong Kong for one and half days on the way to Taiwan and boy I would not want to have any dim sum in New York City now.  The food in Hong Kong is just so darn good.

In the morning, we were wondering around trying to find any authentic HK breakfast and found this in a small corner shop where a lot of locals stopped by to pick up their breakfast.  I ordered this rice noodle dish and it had peanut butter sauce on it.  I have never seen this before. Very yummy.

Then we stopped by another old school breakfast place where there was a bakery in the front.  People were using fork to eat a bread.  Seinfeld episode!

Milk tea is pretty big in HK, we had this milk tea and the bottom of the tea cup has a very cute picture.

We also had roast goose, not duck, which you can't find it in NYC Chinatown.  It was so meaty, much better than the duck.  I took the first bite before taking a picture!

We had a lot of fun eating all over HK.  We did a little bit of research before going there.  But the ultra famous Michelin star restaurants need to wait in line for 2 hours to even get in.  Anyone who knows me would know that I refuse to stay in line for anything.  And the best of all, we had a lot of very good food there by just walking around.
