My craving for the Maryland Crabs with Old Bay seasoning was 100% satisfied this past weekend. We were hesitated to drive 4 hours down to Maryland for a concert if the weather was not perfect. I would not want to go to a outdoor concert if the ground were muddy. I don't care even if Weezer was one of the bands that were playing at Virgin Mobil Festival at Merriweather Post.
We were watching the weather channel on Sat. every hour to see if the sky would clear out the next day (like that would make the weather change) . Sunday turned out to be a perfect day and the ride down to Annapolis, Maryland was enjoyable. We drove thru State highway 301 and saw some massive ugly houses near the cornfields. It was sort of sad to see these cookie cutter houses taking over the beautiful farmland during the real estate boom. Wawa started showing up on our drive down from the state of Delaware. I always feel excited when I see Wawa because there were Wawa everywhere when I lived in Philly, my first city where I lived when I came to this country. It is like the 7-11 in Taipei, clean and well lit.
We arrived at a harbor side seafood place, Cantler's, in Annapolis. Boats were ducking next to the place. It must be 85 degree with no shade. Sun was beating down on us. We ordered a dozen crabs, cherrystone clams, and fried calamari. A bucket of beer, naturally. When the crabs arrived smothered with Old Bay, I felt like I was in heaven!!!
Concert was awesome, Weezer jumped out of the helicopter, landed on the roof of the theater, and it played all of my favorite songs! Life is great!!!
