Bread Making

I had this recipe book written by the owner of Backerei Toktaro in Japan.  I love reading this particular book because it not only has bread making technique but also has all kinds of meat dishes, soups, jam, side dishes that the owner learned while she was traveling in Europe.  She makes bread making and cooking seem such a fun and pleasant thing to do.

Today is a little cold outside and I don't have any agenda ( I need to take a break from my pottery and perhaps start looking for a real job??) so I decide to make this English bread.  It is basically white bread with milk and butter incorporated in it.  I find making bread very meditative because you cannot rush thru it.  The dough needs to be rested and rise on its own pace.  The result was fantastic and tasty.  This bread reminds me of the bakeries in Taiwan - the breads are so fluffy and smell with the aroma of  milk!!! can't wait to visit Taiwan soon.
